ALONE, BUT NOT LONELY

Yes of course, there is a difference. I am alone, but mind you- I am not lonely.

Loneliness is an existential and inescapable human condition feared but faced by all.
It can be triggered from a range of things from simple physical exhaustion to a drastic loss.
Loneliness can be isolation, non-receipt of appreciation, loss of a dear one, and the list goes on.

Nothing comes with us, nothing goes with us,
We are born alone,we travel alone and we die alone. Coming across such philosophical stuff is not very uncommon. But the point is, words do not have the power to penetrate the mind till it is proven by the equisite horror of reality.
However, without intellectualizing, theorizing and analyzing singlehood too much, I have noticed that there is too much mortal fear of being alone.( By the way, even I was one among them.)
We cannot share our experiencesour joys or sorrows with anyone else,
We can only share information, but not understanding.

Loneliness however should not be equated with being alone.
One can be alone and feel joyful and fulfilled and
one can be intensely lonely in the midst of crowds.

Language has created the word 'Loneliness' to express the pain of being alone and
it has created the word 'Solitude' to express the glory of being alone.

Some philosophers consider 'aloneness' as the very essence of being human, it means that being unable to be alone is to loose humanness itself.
Victor Emil Frank, an Austrian neurologist once wisely said,
"We need types of leisure which allow for contemplation and meditation. To this end, people need the courage to be lonely."

Therefore loneliness is the restorative idleness of solitude.
satisfied with dreaming our our dreams and being ready to be by oneself all over again,
I sum lifes journey as.

'THE FLIGHT OF THE ALONE TO THE ALONE'
